As we roll through 2024, let’s explore some of the coolest braided looks and simple guides on how to achieve. And...I found the products to help! These braid trends are sure making waves with teens today!

Boxer braids, or Dutch braids, are straightforward, sporty, and perfect for teens with active lifestyles. Utilize this braid style with any hair type or density in single or multiple braids. Stick with a tight, clean version or loose, soft braids. Here’s how to achieve this look:

  • Step 1: Start with clean, detangled towel dryer hair. Part your hair down the center from forehead to nape. If you choose to do multiple braids use similiar partings.

  • Step 2: Take a small section of hair near your hairline, divide it into three equal parts.

  • Step 3: Begin a Dutch braid by crossing the two outer strands under the middle, alternating and adding hair as you go. Start along your scalp hairline and move towards the back.

  • Step 4: Secure with a small anti-break elastic band. Repeat for each braid.

Fishtail Braid, offers big BANG for your buck. It works beautifully in midlength to long hair with many ways for teens to customize for specific looks. The fishtail braid is undoubtedly versatile with each hairtype and gives a fun, intricate look that is surprisingly easy to create:

  • Step 1: Divide hair into equal sections depending on the number of braids you would like to create.

  • Step 2: Take a small strand from the outer edge of the left section, cross it over to the right section and hold securely with your thumb.

  • Step 3: Repeat on each section. Continue alternating sides until you reach the end.

  • Step 4: Secure with a hair tie. For a fuller look gently pull on the edges og the braid.

The Boho Crown Braid is perfect for a whimsical, soft look. Let it shine as an updo or a half-up style at any teens formal for school. Add floral eccessories or embelished hair pins for effortless charm and feminity:

  • Step 1: Part hair down the middle or slightly off center.

  • Step 2: French braid one side from the temple to the nape, adding hair as you move down.

  • Step 3: Secure the end with an anti snap hair tie and repeat on the other side.

  • Step 4: Pull the braids over the crown of your head and hide the ends by tucking in on each side. Secure with bobby pins that are the same color as hair. Leave the ends out for a softer tousled look or tie the braids together to add more of a designed finish.

For a twist on the classic braid, try the Twisted rope braid. Try this out in multiple different styles by using in ponytails or updos. The twisted rope braid adds dimension and enhances multidimensional haircolor. It is quick and easy if you are short on time or just feel like changing it up:

  • Step 1: Divide hair into two sections.

  • Step 2: Twist each section clockwise.

  • Step 3: Cross the twisted sections over each other counterclockwise.

  • Step 4: Secure with an anti snap hair tie.

The Pull-Through Braid is one of my favorite braid styles! It creates a voluminous, artistic braid that only requires your favorite elastic bands. You can count on the pull-through braid providing teens with a unique look that can be altered to fit your hair type, texture and length:

  • Step 1: Divide hair into ponytails, securing each with a strong, anti snap elastic band.

  • Step 2: Create a hole above the first band by seperating and pull the second ponytail through it. Use more tension for a tighter look and less for a fuller, softer look.

  • Step 3: Secure with an elastic band below the first section.

  • Step 4: Continue down the whole length of the hair or leave the ends out. Add fun ribbon or tinsel for sparkle it up by securing under elastic at the top before pulling through!

These braided hairstyles offer so many options from cute casual to fun formal, allowing teens to express their style and personality. Try experimenting with these looks and products to find the one that suits you best and practice! Whether you’re heading to school, a party, or hanging out with friends, these braids will keep teens looking stylish throughout 2024!
